When is the best time to plant hydroponic daffodils?

The best time to plant hydroponic daffodils is usually from late autumn to early winter, which is approximately from October to December each year. If planted at this time, daffodils can bloom in the spring.

Hydroponic daffodil cultivation method

1. Temperature

If the ambient temperature is below 5 degrees Celsius, daffodils will stop growing and enter a dormant state. To promote its healthy growth, it is best to maintain a temperature of around 15 degrees Celsius.

2. Lighting

The daffodil bulbs store nutrients, but if there is insufficient light, the leaves and flower stems will grow too long. Therefore, placing daffodils in an environment with sufficient light can effectively prevent them from growing too tall.

3. Fertilization

Although daffodil bulbs contain enough nutrients to grow and bloom without fertilizer , if fertilizer is not supplemented for a long time, the bulbs will become thin after flowering and may not bloom again in the next one or two years, eventually leading to being discarded. Therefore, providing daffodils with fertilizers at the right time, especially during their growth period and bud formation, is an important measure to maintain their health and continuous flowering.

In short, daffodils prefer a warm, humid, sunny environment. They are not cold-resistant and are afraid of high temperatures. The suitable temperature for their growth is 10~20℃, and the temperature in winter should not be lower than 0℃.
