How does Epiphyllum survive the winter?

How does Epiphyllum survive the winter?

1. Maintain temperature

Flowers and plants like Epiphyllum cannot withstand cold climates, so you must pay attention to maintaining a good temperature in winter. Pay attention to changes in weather and move the plant indoors in time for maintenance. The temperature should be at least 5 degrees Celsius, and it is best to keep it above 10 degrees Celsius to ensure safe wintering. For families with indoor heating equipment, this temperature can usually be achieved. If there is no indoor heating equipment and the temperature is relatively low, you can build a frame and cover it with plastic film to keep warm.

2. Sufficient light

Epiphyllum needs sufficient sunlight to grow. The light intensity is lower in winter, so it can be kept in a sunny place to meet its light needs, which can also increase the temperature and promote growth.

3. Maintain humidity

Epiphyllum is usually kept indoors in winter, and the air indoors is relatively dry, so you can spray water frequently to maintain humidity, and also remove dust from the leaves to make the leaves shiny and beautiful.

4. Control the amount of water

The temperature is low in winter and the growth rate is slow, so you cannot water too much. You need to control the watering. Watering once every ten days or so will meet the growth needs. Keep the soil in the pot dry and do not allow water to accumulate. The water used for watering the flowers should be dried in advance and the temperature should be almost the same as the room temperature. Water the flowers at noon when the temperature is higher.
