Grafting is a cultivation technique widely used in agricultural planting. It is also quite common in grape cultivation. Grape grafting is the process of grafting branches of one variety of grape vines onto another variety of grape vines, allowing them to merge and grow together. Let's talk about the grape vine grafting method . 1. Grapevine grafting method 1. Green branch cleft grafting This grafting method uses green branches as the name suggests, and green branches generally grow most vigorously from May to July. Because plants are prone to septum in spring, the festive period in June and July is just right. First, select a semi-lignified branch, and then cut a branch with 1 to 2 buds, about 6 to 7 centimeters in length. Then, at the lower end of the branch's growth direction, cut off a section on both the front and back sides to form a wooden wedge. The cut branch is about three centimeters long. Then make a three-centimeter notch in the rootstock , and then insert the scion into the rootstock, that is, into the notch. Then wrap it tightly with plastic wrap. Because both sides of the wood strip serving as the scion are cut off, the top part should also be wrapped with plastic wrap. The purpose of wrapping with plastic wrap is to prevent rain or dew from infecting the branches, causing the wound to fail to heal. 2. Bud grafting This grafting method is also relatively common. The specific method is to choose a relatively thick branch on the grape vine , and then use a small blade to shave off a section of bark on the tree from top to bottom, so that the wound is in a V shape, forming a wedge, and then cut the buds on the scion into a V shape according to the size and angle of the wedge, and then put them into the wedge, so that the scion and the wedge fit perfectly, and then use tape or plastic film to completely tie them up, but the buds need to be exposed so that they can grow. After a period of time, you will find that the grafted place has grown completely. 3. Drilling grafting method This method is also very simple. The main method is to use an electric drill to drill a small hole on the main vine of glucose. It should be noted that it is best not to drill horizontally, but to form a small V-shaped direction with the main vine. Then cut the selected scion into a length of about 5 to 8 cm, and keep a bud point on it. Cut the bottom of the scion into a cone shape, and then place it in the hole. After that, you can wrap it with plastic film and wait for it to grow together. 2. Grapevine grafting precautions 1. Choose the right time for grafting. Generally speaking, spring is the best time to graft grapes. At this time, the grape vines have just begun to sprout, they are full of vitality and easy to survive. 2. Choose a suitable grafting method. At present, common grape grafting methods include bark grafting, belly grafting and bud grafting. Different grafting methods are suitable for different grafting objects and environments, and need to be flexibly selected according to actual conditions. 3. Choose the appropriate grafting variety. When grafting grapes, choose varieties that have strong affinity with the original variety and complementary traits. In this way, the grafted grape vines can grow and bear fruit better. 4. Management after grafting. The grafted grape vines need proper management measures such as pruning, watering and fertilizing to ensure their healthy growth. That’s it |
