Things to note when repotting lucky bamboo, when to repot lucky bamboo

1. Time to change pots

The first thing to do when changing its pot is to pay attention to the time. It is recommended to do it in spring. The temperature in spring is suitable, the plant grows vigorously and has a strong germination ability. Repotting at this time can not only reduce damage to it, but also promote its faster recovery, which is also beneficial to its later growth. Note that you must avoid summer and winter. The high temperature in summer makes it easy for the plants to be infected by pathogens, while the low temperature in winter makes it easy for the plants to be frozen.

2. Pot soil selection

Every time you change the pot, you should choose a larger pot than the original one to meet the space requirements. To replace new soil, the soil should be loose, breathable and fertile. Meeting these points will be more conducive to plant growth. If the air permeability is poor, the roots are prone to rot.

3. Pruning the root system

Every time you repot, you should combine it with root pruning. After removing the plant from the pot, you need to cut off some old roots, dead roots, rotten roots, etc. This will allow it to better absorb nutrients and water in the later stage, reduce consumption, and facilitate growth. In addition, the roots must be disinfected after pruning, and they can be soaked in disinfectant. If there is no disinfectant, the wound must be dried in a semi-shaded place before putting it in a pot, otherwise it will easily become infected.

4. Post-change management

Pay attention to management methods after repotting. It should be watered thoroughly in time and then placed in a well-ventilated and dark place. It is afraid of the sun and is very weak at this time. If it is placed in the sun, it will be burned, which will affect its later recovery and growth.
