Should boxwood be potted in a large or small pot?

Boxwood potted plants are often not very large, so they can be planted in small pots with a diameter of about 10-20 cm. However, the specific size depends on the size of the plant. Being too large or too small is not conducive to the growth of the plant.

Growth environment: Boxwood is shade-tolerant and light-loving. The most suitable growth temperature for the plant is 8-26℃. It has high requirements for water, and the plant can be replenished with water in small amounts and multiple times.

Repotting time: The soil of a boxwood potted plant needs to be changed every 2-3 years. Repotting should be done in spring when the temperature is most stable and the plant recovers fastest.

Should boxwood be potted in a deep or shallow pot?

The size of the boxwood potted plant is not very large, so it can be planted in a shallow pot. This also makes it easier to observe the root system of the plant and makes the plant more ornamental.

The boxwood plant is best grown in purple clay pots or glazed clay pots. The shape is mostly rectangular, and the color is preferably purple or light yellow. This combination has a high ornamental value.

Boxwood repotting method

A few days before repotting the boxwood, you should clean the water in advance, gently shake the flowerpot, remove the boxwood from the original pot, then trim the rotten and dead roots, prepare new soil with leaf mold and sandy soil, and replant the boxwood.
