Purple sweet potatoes do not have high requirements for humidity and generally prefer a dry environment. During the growth period of purple sweet potatoes, the moisture content of the soil can be within the range of 60-80%. Generally, newly planted purple sweet potatoes should not be watered.

Purple sweet potato usually starts to be raised as seedlings in February during the vernal equinox. After the branches and leaves grow, they can be planted by leaf cuttings in April or May.
