Mugwort, also known as wormwood, is a relatively common medicinal material. It has very high medicinal value and a large market demand. Mugwort can be planted in all parts of my country and has strong adaptability. Below, the editor will introduce the cultivation technology of mugwort. Let’s take a look. 1. Site selection and land preparation The place where mugwort is planted should have irrigation water conditions, and it is best if there are no residential population or large industrial factories around, so as to ensure that the soil and water sources are not contaminated by any toxic and harmful substances. In addition, when planting, you should choose a plot with loose soil and good light, and plant the transplanted mugwort in a fish-back-shaped place with a bed width of about 1.5 meters and a bed surface that is high in the middle and low on both sides to avoid water accumulation. 2. Breeding method The main methods of propagation of mugwort include seed propagation, rhizome propagation and division propagation. Among them, the germination rate of seed propagation is the lowest, only about 5%. The method of division propagation is the best. Not only does it have a high survival rate, but it also has no seedling growth period and the propagation speed is very fast. 3. Planting time Generally speaking, if you choose to propagate by seeds, the time to plant mugwort should be in March every year. If you choose the rhizome propagation method, you can plant mugwort in November every year. 4. Temperature management Mugwort is relatively cold-resistant and has different temperature requirements in different seasons. In winter, the temperature can be kept at around 8 degrees Celsius. In other seasons, the temperature can be kept between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius. In the north, the weather is too cold in winter, so you need to take some warming measures for the mugwort to prevent it from being frostbitten, such as covering it with a film. 5. Intertillage and weeding In late April, tillage and weeding should be carried out once. The tillage should be even and the hoeing should be deep enough to reach a depth of about 15 cm. After harvesting, turn over and dry the land, remove dead branches and leaves, and thin out the dense stem bases and perennial roots. 6. Fertilization management Before planting mugwort, sufficient fertilizer needs to be applied. The requirement for fertilizer is 4,000 kg of decomposed farmyard manure per acre of land. During the peak growth period, mainly apply some dilute human and animal manure, and add some phosphorus and potassium fertilizers appropriately. Only with adequate supply of nutrients can mugwort grow stronger. Note that deep plowing is required when applying fertilizer to allow the fertilizer to fully blend with the soil. A thorough irrigation must be carried out after fertilizing, and fertilizer should also be applied after each harvest. The above is the cultivation technology of mugwort. Mugwort can be said to be in short supply in the market, and its cultivation method is also very simple. Friends who want to plant it can master the above cultivation technology.
