Can Dendrobium candidum be exposed to the sun? Will it die after exposure to the sun?

1. Can I get some sun?

Dendrobium officinale likes to grow in semi-shaded places with scattered light. It is very sensitive to changes in light and does not like strong exposure to sunlight, but it does not need sunlight. Therefore, it can be exposed to the sun appropriately and placed in a bright place, which can also promote photosynthesis. However, it cannot be grown and maintained under strong sunlight for a long time. Pay attention to shading when caring for it. The light in summer is too strong, so at least 60% of the light should be shaded. The light in late spring and early autumn is also very strong, so shading is also needed. In winter, the intensity of the sun is significantly reduced and it is not so glaring, so you can see more sunlight and only need to shade 20%. You can also keep it on the north balcony without shading.

When caring for Dendrobium officinale, you should pay attention to its placement. You can place it under the windowsill or on the coffee table in the living room to increase its beauty. Try not to place it directly on the windowsill.

2. Will you die after sun exposure?

If the light is too strong and exposed to direct sunlight, the Dendrobium officinale will turn yellow, a large amount of water in the body will be lost, and its growth will be sluggish. In severe cases, it will dry up and die due to lack of water. If you find that the plant is exposed to strong light, you need to move it to a cool place immediately, increase ventilation, and spray water appropriately to keep it moist.
