How to plant litchi seeds to germinate

How to plant litchi seeds to germinate

1. Time Selection

If you want litchi seeds to germinate, you can choose to plant them in April-June or August-September each year. The germination rate is very good during these two periods, and the later growth is also better. However, our country has a vast area and the climatic conditions in different regions are different, so the time can be adjusted according to the local climate.

2. Seed germination

Remove the lychee pulp after eating, take out the core, and then wash it in clean water. In order to ensure germination, the seeds need to be germinated. You can select plump and full seeds, then soak them in warm water and wait for the seeds to absorb water, expand and crack. You can also wrap the seeds in moist gauze, then place them in a warm place to germinate, and spray water on the gauze frequently, which will also have the same effect.

3. Preparation of sand and soil

The preparation of the soil is also very important. It is necessary to mix soil and fine sand in a ratio of 1:2, so that it can be both breathable and nutritious at the same time. Do not use airtight soil.

4. Sowing

Insert the seeds into the soil with the crack facing upwards, arrange the seeds neatly, and ensure good spacing. Do not plant them too densely.

5. Maintenance and management

Before germination, you need to spray water with a small spray bottle every day to ensure that the surface is moist. It will germinate in about ten days.
