1. Cutting timeThe time for money tree cuttings is generally in spring and autumn, which is the growth period of the plant and the climate is relatively warm, making it easier for the cuttings to take root after cuttings. If cuttings are taken in summer, the bottom of the plant will easily rot due to the high temperature and the survival rate will be relatively low. In winter, the temperature is too low and it is difficult for cuttings to take root. 2. Cuttings processingThere are two kinds of cuttings for money tree cuttings, one is leaves and the other is leaf axes. When using leaves as cuttings, make sure they are intact and have no wounds or diseased areas. Use the leaf axis as a cutting, leaving at least two leaves on it. In comparison, the latter has a faster rooting speed and a higher germination rate. 3. Pot soil preparationIf leaves are used as cuttings, the potting soil is generally prepared with a mixture of river sand and vermiculite, which can ensure a certain degree of air permeability and drainage. If the leaf axis is used as a cutting, the potting soil can be prepared with peat soil, perlite and river sand. The ratio of the three is 3:1:1. Since peat soil has a certain water retention capacity, it is also suitable as a substrate for mature plants. 4. Take cuttingsInsert the leaves of the money tree into the substrate. Generally, small bulbous stems with roots will grow after 10-14 days, and they will grow into small plants after 2-3 months. If using leaf rachis for cuttings, the depth should be about one-third or one-half. After spraying water appropriately, place it in a semi-shaded place and control the temperature between 25-27℃. |
