Peacock ball breeding method

Peacock ball breeding method

1. Cutting

1. Time: The time for cuttings can be selected from May to September. At this time, the surrounding humidity is relatively high, which is conducive to rooting.

2. Branches: Choose a mother plant with good growth condition and no diseases or insect pests. Cut a branch about 8 cm long from it, which must be grown in the same year. After cutting it, you cannot use it for cuttings immediately. You need to wait until the cut stops dripping juice. You can dip it in wood ash and then put it aside to dry.

3. Sand bed: For the substrate for cuttings, it is best to use sandy soil and keep it clean and free of pollution.

4. Cutting: Insert the branches into the sand bed and sprinkle appropriate amount of water into it. It will take about 15-20 days to take root.

2. Layering

1. Layering: Select branches with good growth and bury the middle part in the soil.

2. Separation: After the underground part takes root, the two parts can be separated.

3. Grafting

1. Preparation: Use dragon bones with the same properties as rootstocks, and then cut off strong branches as scion.

2. Grafting: Insert the two together and tie a ribbon on the outside. It will take about 7 days for it to survive.

4. Sowing

1. Seeds: This method is not commonly used. You can buy suitable seeds, which must be healthy and undamaged.

2. Sowing: Prepare a breathable substrate, sow the seeds, pour appropriate amount of water and place them in a bright place.
