How to cultivate blue spinach

How to cultivate blue spinach

1. Maintenance methods

1. Temperature: It prefers a cooler environment, and this habit can be easily seen from its distribution areas in our country. Generally speaking, it can be between fifteen and twenty degrees. It has good cold resistance, but not so good heat resistance. Therefore, it is strictly forbidden to keep it in a very hot environment, especially in summer, and you need to pay a little attention.

2. Light: During the flowering period, Echinops has particularly high requirements for sunlight. But too strong light is not suitable, astigmatism is most suitable for it. When the temperature is high, in addition to cooling down, another important task is to provide shade, otherwise it will burn the leaves and affect flowering.

3. Watering: Echinops edulis is relatively drought-resistant, but its waterlogging tolerance is very poor. Therefore, when watering, you can follow the principle of "better dry than wet". During the growth period, you can water more often, but the substrate should not be too wet. A semi-wet state is better. Keep it dry during cold winters.

4. Fertilization: Bluethorn has strong adaptability and basically has no need for fertilizer. Just choose soil rich in nutrients.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Reproduction: It can be propagated by seeds, which is the simplest way. It is better to sow in spring, the chance of germination will be relatively high, and a large number of blue spiny head plants can be obtained. However, after sowing, the surrounding environment needs to be adjusted in time. The temperature should be around 18 degrees, and the light should be slightly blocked.

2. Weeding: If you plant blue spiny hairs on a large scale in the field, there will be a problem that weeds will appear from time to time. They will compete with the blue spiny hairs for nutrients, so they need to be removed in time, and it is best to weed regularly.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Diseases: Bluethorn is relatively resistant and is not susceptible to many diseases. Occasionally there is "black spot disease", which mainly harms the leaves and causes many spots to appear on them. It can be treated with Benomyl, and attention should be paid to drainage during the rainy season, and some phosphorus and potassium fertilizers should be added.

2. Pests: There are not many pests, but the damage will be relatively serious when they appear, so you need to spray pesticides immediately after you find them.

IV. Other issues

1. Toxicity: It is non-toxic and will not cause any harm.

2. Can it be raised at home? There are many species of it, and it is suitable for viewing. It can be placed at home, but it is more used in gardening, such as arranging flower beds and so on.
