How to grow fern

How to grow fern

1. Maintenance methods

1. Temperature: The pod fern prefers a cooler environment. It has a low tolerance to high temperatures, and a too hot environment will weaken its growth. Therefore, it is most suitable to stay in an environment between 15 and 25 degrees, and try not to stay in an environment above 30 degrees.

2. Light: The pod fern does not require much sunlight and is relatively shade-tolerant. During its growth period, it only needs an appropriate amount of diffuse light, but not too strong light. Especially in summer, it must not be exposed to direct sunlight, otherwise its leaves may be burned.

3. Watering: The pod fern likes moisture, and wild pod fern is generally distributed in shady and humid places. Therefore, it is very necessary to replenish water in time. Especially in summer, it is best to water twice a day. In addition, the air humidity must be kept appropriate.

4. Fertilization: The pod fern does not require much fertilizer. If there are sufficient nutrients in the soil, top dressing can be applied once every two months and no application is required in winter.

2. Breeding techniques

1. Reproduction: It can be propagated by division, which is very common. Can be done in spring and autumn. Choose a plant with well-developed rhizomes as the mother plant and dig it out of the soil. Prepare the soil at the root system, and then divide it into several parts. The specific number can be determined according to its volume. After dividing them, plant them separately, and keep a distance of about 40 centimeters.

2. Weeding: There are often some messy grasses next to the pod fern. Therefore, they need to be removed regularly. After weeding, it is best to cover it with a layer of straw, which can effectively inhibit the growth of weeds. In addition, weeding can be combined with soil loosening to alleviate soil caking and allow the plants to grow better in the future.

3. Problem diagnosis and treatment

1. Disease: The resistance of the pod fern is very good, so it basically does not suffer from diseases. If you spray the disease in time after discovering it, it can be easily cured.

2. Pests: There are not too many. Just spray pesticides when they appear. Pay attention in time and don't let their number increase.

IV. Other issues

1. Toxicity: It is non-toxic and has a relatively strong ability to purify the environment.

2. Can it be raised at home? Yes, but this practice is rare as it is mainly wild and not an ornamental plant.
