Kumquat grafting time

Kumquat grafting time

1. Grafting time

The grafting time requirements are very wide, and it can be carried out from April to September, but it is best to choose between April and August. Spring is full of vitality and has strong healing ability. The climate during this period is very suitable for growth, and the rooting speed is very fast, which can ensure the growth speed. Secondly, you can also choose summer and autumn. In winter, because of the cold climate, the healing ability is very poor, and it is not easy to recover after grafting, so winter cannot be chosen.

2. Grafting method

1. Branch grafting: Branch grafting is to select strong branches as scion, which can be done by cleft grafting and cut grafting. Cut the spring shoots of excellent varieties as scion. The length should be kept at about 5-6 strawberries. 2-3 buds should be retained on it and the leaves should be cut off.

2. Bud grafting: It is best to use T-shape bud grafting. This method is best used from June to August, when the bark is easy to fall off, which is very beneficial for grafting. You can first select branches grown that year and remove buds from them. The thickness of the rootstock should be kept at about 1-1.5cm. Use the tip of a knife to peel off the bark, then insert the buds, fit them tightly together, and then tie them tightly with a bag on the outside.
