Lucky Bamboo

Lucky bamboo is an evergreen upright shrub of the genus Dracaena in the Liliaceae family, and is very suitable for indoor water-grown flowers.

The leaves of lucky bamboo are emerald green, and its stems are straight and round like bamboo. The leaves are ovate with pointed tips and the base of the petiole is clasping the stem. It is an extremely shade-tolerant plant and can still grow well and be upright and strong under low light conditions. It can be placed indoors for a long time for viewing leaves. It does not require special maintenance. As long as there is enough water, it can grow vigorously. When hydroponically cultivating, cut the stems of lucky bamboo into small sections of more than 20 cm and insert them into the water as cuttings. As long as 1/3 of the cuttings can be immersed in water, they can take root and survive.

Chlorophytum

Chlorophytum is a perennial evergreen herbaceous flower of the Liliaceae family. Its leaves are clustered, linear, and have longitudinal yellow-white stripes on the edges or in the middle.

In summer and autumn, spider plants will grow slender, flexible and drooping creeping branches from between the leaves, with new leaves and aerial roots sprouting from the top or nodes and white flowers blooming. Chlorophytum can be grown in water indoors. It not only purifies the air, but also has beautiful appearance and is easy to manage. Dig out the potted spider plant, remove the soil from the roots, cut off the old and rotten roots, leaving the fibrous roots, put it in a container bottle, fill the bottle with clean water and flower nutrient solution, and let the roots of the spider plant be immersed in the water to grow.

asparagus

Asparagus fern belongs to the genus Asparagus of the Liliaceae family and is a perennial evergreen herbaceous flower.

The stems of asparagus fern are thin and weak, and its branches are slender and leaf-like, spreading horizontally. The flowers are small and white. The berries are spherical and black. When the fruit is ripe, it presents a scene of red dots amidst the dense green, which is elegant and lovely. The plant is shade-tolerant and looks elegant when placed on a bedside or desk. It is a very good indoor flower. Asparagus fern is also an ideal material for cut flowers. In recent years, water-grown asparagus fern has been successfully developed, which is more elegant when placed in the living room.

Gerbera

Gerbera is a perennial herbaceous plant of the Asteraceae family. It has large flowers, rich colors, and blooms all year round.

Gerbera prefers a warm, sunny and well-ventilated environment. It is a semi-hardy flower and prefers fertile and loose soil. Gerbera is a very good cut flower variety. It can be grown in water for a long time, has high ornamental value, and is also a good absorber of formaldehyde.

hyacinth

Hyacinthus, also known as daffodil, belongs to the genus Hyacinthus of the Liliaceae family and is a perennial herb.

The bulb of hyacinth is spherical or oblate, with a purple-blue or white outer bark. The leaves are basal, thick, and ribbon-lanceolate. The flower stalk emerges from the center of the leaf stem, in racemes, with delicate, colorful, gorgeous and pleasant fragrance. It likes plenty of sunlight and a cool and humid environment. It is suitable for both potted plants and water cultivation. When grown in water, place its bulbs in hydroponic nutrient solution, and the appearance will be clean and highly ornamental.

Things to note when growing flowers in spring

Flowers grow vigorously in spring, with large evaporation and high nutrient consumption, so water and fertilizer must be kept up; water in time when the soil in the pot is dry and cracked; fertilize once a week or half a month; loosen the soil before watering and fertilizing.

After winter, dead branches and leaves should be pruned in time, and some vines should be supported and tied in time to ensure that the branches and leaves are evenly distributed and light and ventilation are allowed.

Evergreen flowers are most likely to survive if they are repotted before they sprout leaves. Choose a cloudy day to repot or plant them.

Pests must be killed in a timely manner, especially aphids, which must be killed thoroughly when they occur.

Spring is a great time for flower reproduction. Flowers that bloom in summer and autumn should be sown in time, bulbous flowers should be planted in time, and perennial flowers should be propagated by cuttings.
