How to repot the tiger lily

How to repot the tiger lily

1. Time to change pots

Tiger Piranha is usually repotted in winter or spring. At this time, it is in a dormant period and grows relatively slowly. Repotting will not cause major damage and it has a higher survival rate. If you change the pot in the hot season, the plant may wither and die due to consuming too many nutrients during the acclimatization period.

2. Loosen the soil and remove the pot

Before repotting, you need to loosen the soil of the Sansevieria first. Use a screwdriver or other tool to gently pry the inside of the pot wall to separate the soil from the pot wall. Then tilt the pot and dig out the soil around the edge of the pot. If the soil is loose, you can poke the hole at the bottom of the pot to help the plant get out of the pot.

3. Root pruning and replanting

After removing the snake plant from the pot, cut off the old and rotten roots. Soak the roots in carbendazim for disinfection, take them out, dry them and replant them. Choose a flowerpot of suitable size, place broken tiles at the bottom of the pot, and fill it with some sandy soil. Place the plant upright in the middle, fill in the soil and compact it.

4. Seedling maintenance

It is not advisable to water Sansevieria during the seedling growth period, and a suitably dry environment needs to be maintained. At the same time, giving it a certain amount of light will be more conducive to its recovery. 2-4 days after repotting, you can water it appropriately to keep the soil moist.
