What to do if the Clivia buds don't grow

What to do if the Clivia buds don't grow

1. Supplement sunlight

Although it can tolerate shade, the growth of flower buds requires additional sunlight, especially in autumn and winter. More exposure to sunlight can promote the synthesis of nutrients and encourage the development and growth of flower buds. Place it on a sunny balcony and expose it to sufficient scattered light. After a while, the flower buds will grow naturally and the flowers will bloom quickly.

2. Apply fertilizer

The formation and opening of flower buds require sufficient nutrients, attention should be paid to the balanced proportion of fertilizers, and emphasis should be placed on the supplementation of phosphorus and potassium elements. If only nitrogen fertilizer is applied, the plant will only continue to grow tall and flower buds will not grow. Before the flowering season arrives, spray foliar fertilizer on the leaves, and also pay attention to the application on the roots, which can help to promote the growth of flower buds.

3. Control watering

If the flower buds are slow to grow, it may be because too much water is applied, causing the plant to grow too tall, making it difficult for the flower buds to grow. Appropriate watering is required, but not excessive. When the water demand is small, you can just spray water without watering.

4. Control temperature

Temperature control is also very important. If the surrounding temperature is not suitable, flower buds will find it difficult to grow. Adjusting the temperature to 15-20 degrees Celsius and controlling the temperature difference between day and night at around 10 degrees Celsius can effectively differentiate flower buds.
