Do you need to water succulents after transplanting?

Do you need to water succulents after transplanting?

1. Do you need to water?

Succulents that have just been transplanted do not need to be watered because they have to go through a seedling growth period. During this time, they will not absorb water. Instead, excessive water will cause problems such as poor breathing or the breeding of bacteria.

2. How to water

1. Wait for the plants to acclimate to the new environment: The so-called acclimatization means that the succulents begin to grow normally in the new environment. This time is generally not fixed, but succulents themselves are drought-resistant, so they can survive for a long time even if the soil is dry. However, damp soil in the pot will reduce its resistance and cause black rot of the roots.

2. Add water in appropriate amounts: Generally, you can water less every 3 days or so to ensure that the water flows quickly to the bottom of the pot and does not come into contact with the roots of the plant for a long time. This method of watering only allows it to feel the moisture, which is more helpful for it to adapt to the pot and grow new roots.

3. Normal watering: It takes about a week for the plant to acclimate to the pot, at which time you can resume normal watering. Generally it is once a week, and the amount of water should be strictly controlled. If you don’t know when to water it, just pinch the bottom of the leaves yourself. If it is a little soft, you need to water it. If it is relatively hard, you don’t need to water it.
