How to plant grapefruit seedlings

1. Planting time

The time for planting pomelo seedlings is mainly divided into two stages. They can be planted in autumn from September to November, when the old shoots are already mature and will cause less damage. You can also choose the time when the seeds just sprout in February or March, which will be beneficial for their survival in the later stage and allow the plants to adapt to the environment as soon as possible.

2. Soil requirements

The requirements for loam when planting seedlings are not very strict, and there are not many requirements. You only need to ensure that the soil layer is deep and has good drainage. Sandy loam is best, but the nutrition must be good and contain sufficient nutrients. Before planting, till the soil to keep it active, and dig holes according to the diameter. Make sure the holes are large and deep enough.

3. Planting

Prune the roots of the saplings moderately and remove the old and rotten roots nearby. Fill the pit with organic fertilizer and cover it with a layer of soil. Place the sapling in the center of the pit, stretch out the roots, straighten it and plant it in the pit. Lift the sapling upwards while filling the soil. This will promote the combination of the sapling and the soil, and then slowly press it firmly. After completion, water the soil to allow the roots to fit better into the soil, and cover the soil with straw.

4. Post-maintenance

After the growth stabilizes, apply an appropriate amount of fertilizer, mainly root fertilization, and also combine it with foliar fertilization.
