How to fertilize aloe vera and what fertilizer to use

How to fertilize aloe vera and what fertilizer to use

1. Fertilization time

Aloe vera has a strong adaptability and does not require too much fertilizer, but a moderate amount of fertilizer is helpful to its growth. The first thing is to use an appropriate amount of base fertilizer when planting in pots. In addition, during the normal growing period, you can also use appropriate top dressing.

2. Fertilizer Types

The basal fertilizer used is mainly some solid substances, such as bone meal, fish meal and so on. Top dressing can be done with solid fertilizer or liquid fertilizer, such as compound fertilizer or liquid fertilizer.

3. Fertilization method

1. After preparing the base fertilizer, you can mix it evenly with the substrate, and then you can plant the plants. If solid fertilizer is used for top dressing, it can be buried in the soil at the edge of the flowerpot, not too close to the root system, otherwise it will easily cause root rot. If it is liquid fertilizer, you need to dilute it with water first and then apply it on the soil surface.

2. The interval between fertilization can be once every 15 days, and fertilization does not need to be too frequent.

3. Since aloe vera is a fleshy plant, the fertilizer applied should mainly contain more phosphorus and potassium elements, and less nitrogen.

IV. Precautions

You should also pay attention to the specific time of fertilizing. It is not suitable to fertilize at noon. It is best to choose the morning and evening time periods.
