There are four taboos in growing spider plants. Avoid these four points and the leaves will grow like a waterfall.

There are four taboos in growing spider plants. Avoid these four points and the leaves will grow like a waterfall.

1. Avoid cold

If you want plants to grow well, the living environment must be good. The suitable growth environment for Chlorophytum is 15-20 degrees Celsius. Try to keep the ambient temperature around this temperature when cultivating it. Especially when it is cold in winter, we must be very careful. Friends in the north should try to grow plants in places with sufficient sunlight to ensure a warm environment.

2. Avoid water

Chlorophytum is not a plant that likes dryness, but if you water it with too much water, which exceeds the range that it can absorb, it will definitely be harmful to it. When the weather is cold, many friends will still water the spider plants with a lot of water. The reason is that the air is relatively dry in winter, and fertilizing the spider plants more will make the plants grow better.

In fact, this is not the case. When the air is dry, you can use a spray bottle to spray water on the surface of the plant to ensure the moisturization of the leaves. However, blindly watering the roots of the plant will only cause root rot and other bad problems.

3. Avoid light

Being photophobic does not mean that you should not give spider plants any light. No matter what kind of plant it is, light is indispensable, it’s just that the degree of light is different. Chlorophytum itself likes to grow in a cool place, so under the condition of ensuring a certain amount of light, try to let the plant grow in a cool and ventilated place. You can usually choose to grow it in a balcony or living room with diffused light, and the effect is very good.

4. Avoid concentrated fertilizer

Chlorophytum does not like fertilizer during its growth, so special attention should be paid to the issue of fertilizer. It is best to choose a thin layer of fertilizer so that the spider plant can absorb it easily. Generally, it only needs to be applied once every half a month. More than that will not be good for the spider plant.

There are four points you need to pay attention to when planting spider plants. You can see that these four points are closely related to our daily maintenance. If you want to grow spider plants well, you must make sure you have good daily maintenance habits! Remember these four points, and you can also grow beautiful spider plants!
