Cutting timeSeason SelectionJasmine is elegant and pleasant. It is the jasmine that "can fill a room with fragrance". Although it is not as gorgeous as the rose, the fragrant plum blossom, the distant orchid, and the elegant magnolia, its snow-white flowers and unique fragrance always make people intoxicated. Jasmine cuttings are relatively easy to survive, but they must be done during the growing season (May to October), with the rainy season being the best. Time SelectionA day's plan begins in the morning, but it is very bad to take jasmine cuttings in the morning because the cuttings will be exposed to the midday sun right after they are taken. Therefore, the best time of the day to plant jasmine cuttings is in the evening. At this time, there is neither scorching sun nor long days to stretch. After cuttings, some dew will be produced at night, which is suitable for the growth of jasmine. Process diagramSelection of cuttingsFor cuttings, choose new branches of the year (old branches have a low survival rate), with 4 to 5 nodes and more than two pairs of buds, and a length of 10 cm to 15 cm. The incision should be close to the node, with the lower incision about 1 cm below the node and the upper incision about 1 cm above the node. The upper incision should be cut into an inclined surface to prevent water accumulation and rot. Only keep 1 to 2 pairs of leaves at the top, or cut off the upper half of each leaf, and then insert the cuttings into the soil about 5 cm. About 20 branches can be cut into a flowerpot with a diameter of 30 cm. After the cuttings are cut, they need to be sorted. Cut off all side branches, and the leaves in the middle and lower parts should also be cut off to reduce water evaporation and avoid the sharp contradiction of insufficient income and expenditure, which may lead to death. Potting soil preparationPrepare a pot of loose, water-permeable, slightly acidic sandy soil with good air permeability. Then use a pole to poke holes in the soil to prevent the epidermis from being damaged when the flower branches are cut. Step by step diagramInsert the bud end upwards into the soil, straighten the branch and compact the surrounding soil with your fingers to make the soil stick to the branch to prevent it from loosening and facilitate its rooting and survival: After cutting, place the flower pot in a shaded place, avoid direct sunlight, and spray water, but not too humid: Maintenance precautionsAfter about a month, leaves will sprout and roots will grow in about two months. At this time, it should still not be exposed to direct sunlight. Before the roots grow, avoid applying fertilizer, otherwise it will easily cause bacterial infection and lead to rot of the plug. Move the cuttings indoors on rainy days to avoid rain and rot. After that, keep the soil in the pot moist and spray water on the cuttings appropriately. They will take root in about three weeks. Then start applying liquid fertilizer with a dilute concentration and expose them to light appropriately. They can be transplanted and cultivated after 2 months. |
