How to grow potted strawberries

How to grow potted strawberries

1. Prepare the container

When planting potted strawberries, you should prepare flower pots with drainage holes in advance. It is best to put some pebbles at the bottom of the pot first to enhance ventilation and drainage. Put clean, high-quality soil into the flowerpot and mix it with an appropriate amount of base fertilizer.

2. Handling Strawberry Seedlings

It is best to use strawberry seedlings when growing at home. It is not recommended to use seeds because the germination rate is relatively low. After purchasing the strawberry seedlings, you must first deal with its roots. If it has old soil, clean it up first and check whether there are unhealthy roots. If so, cut them off. Finally, put it in rooting water and soak it before planting.

3. Planting

After soaking, the strawberry seedlings are taken out and placed in a cool place first. After a few hours, they are planted in the potting soil. It is best to plant one seedling in each pot. If there are too many, its growth condition will deteriorate. After planting, you need to lift the roots appropriately to allow the root system to stretch in the soil, and then bury it in the soil.

IV. Precautions

1. When choosing pots, try to use lighter colors. Pots that are too dark will absorb heat and may burn the strawberry seedlings.

2. It is best to use loose acidic soil, otherwise the root respiration of the plant will be affected, resulting in poor growth.
