How to grow Acer truncatum

How to grow Acer truncatum

1. Breeding conditions

1. Soil: When choosing soil, two factors should be considered, one is air permeability and the other is drainage.

2. Temperature: Because it is native to subtropical regions, it has strict requirements on temperature, and it is best to control it at around 25 degrees. Because it has poor cold tolerance, you need to be careful to keep warm.

3. Light: It has good adaptability to light, but it cannot stay in a very dark environment for a long time. It is best to grow it under mild sunlight. If you grow it indoors, you should especially choose a bright place to place it.

4. Watering: It does not like a too humid environment, so it needs to be watered after the soil is dry. But don't water too much. In hot weather, you can water more appropriately. Generally, you need to water once every one or two days.

2. Reproduction method

The main way of propagation of Acer truncatum is by sowing. Before sowing, the seeds need to be soaked in warm water for twelve to twenty-four hours before sowing. After sowing the seeds, cover them with about 1 cm of soil. Then control the temperature at around 27 degrees, so that it is easier to germinate.

3. Pest and disease control

For the maple, insect pests are more likely to occur, such as the larvae of the "beetle" and "cutworms", etc. Once discovered, use furadan to control them. Diseases also occur from time to time, such as "damping-off disease", which is more common in the seedling stage of the plant and can be treated with carbendazim.
