How to grow Jianlan in winter

How to grow Jianlan in winter

1. Keep warm

Most flowers are afraid of the cold air in winter, and Jianlan is no exception. Therefore, when the cold winter comes, we must be aware of keeping warm. Most of the time, the plants are moved indoors for cultivation, and the room temperature is best around 15℃. Be sure to note that no matter what kind of plant it is, try not to place it near the air vents of the air conditioner or heater.

2. Reduce watering

When the temperature drops in winter, as it enters a dormant period, the nutrients and water it needs will be greatly reduced, and the root system will slowly stop working, so at this time you should slowly reduce the amount of watering. If the weather is warm, you can water it in small amounts at noon. Watering too much will cause the roots to rot.

3. Pot soil maintenance

It is a relatively weak plant, especially in winter, when its resistance is greatly reduced. Healthy soil is its protective umbrella. In winter, you should pay attention to whether there are insect eggs in the potting soil. You can disinfect and eliminate insects to ensure a good growth environment.

4. Light maintenance

It likes both sunlight and cool environment. In winter, you can just keep it in a place with scattered light indoors. Providing it with proper light in winter can improve its resistance and greatly reduce the chance of disease.
