1. Cutting timeThe best time to take cuttings is mid-April, when the temperature is more suitable and the chance of survival is the highest. Other months such as June, August, October and November are also acceptable, as long as the temperature conditions are guaranteed. 2. Soil SelectionThe loam used for cuttings should be fluffy in texture and have a relatively deep soil layer. It needs to have good air permeability and drainage. The pH value can be slightly lower to ensure better growth. It needs to be disinfected before use to avoid accidents later. 3. Cutting cuttingsChoose plants with good growth and cut strong one- or two-year-old branches that are free of diseases and insect pests. Leave a few leaves on the top and remove the leaves below. This can avoid nutrient consumption and prevent rot when inserted. Place the cut in a cool place to dry until it heals, then you can use it for cuttings. 4. Take cuttingsDip the branches in rooting powder and insert them diagonally into the substrate one-third of the way, not too deep. First place it in a semi-shaded place for maintenance, spray some water every once in a while to ensure it is moist, and wait for it to take root. |
