How to grow silver-edged spider plants short and strong

How to grow silver-edged spider plants short and strong

1. Ensure the temperature

Create a suitable growing environment for Chlorophytum comosum and it will grow faster. The temperature should be maintained at 15-25℃ as much as possible. When the temperature is relatively high or relatively low, it will grow poorly. The temperature during winter should not be lower than 5℃.

2. Control the amount of water

Although the plant is suitable for growing in a humid environment, the amount of water should not be too much. When the leaves grow fast, it will not have the effect of being dwarfed and strong. Therefore, the amount of watering should be reasonably controlled during the cultivation period, and its growth will slow down, so that its leaves will be wider and it will gradually become shorter and stronger.

3. Get more sunlight

To make the plant grow very short and strong, it should see as much sunlight as possible. If the plant is allowed to grow in the shade for a long time, its leaves will easily grow too long. It should be exposed to more sunlight during the maintenance period, but not to strong exposure.

4. Proper pruning

Silver-edged spider plant will grow aerial roots during its growth period, which must be cut off in time, otherwise it will absorb nutrients from the soil, promote the growth of leaves, and grow very slender. Therefore, you should cut it off as soon as you find it and just keep the important root system. This way the nutrition will be more balanced and the plant will become shorter and stronger.
