How to grow potted calamus

How to grow potted calamus

1. Lighting environment

It likes sunlight and can grow as long as the sunlight is not too strong. However, if there is insufficient light, the spots on the leaves will become darker, the branches and leaves will become too long, and they will become weak. If the light is too strong, the leaves will be burned and the color of the leaves will become blurred.

2. Sufficient water

It likes a humid environment and sufficient water is conducive to its growth, especially in spring and summer, it needs a lot of water to support its growth. Keep it within a certain range. If the soil is too moist or dry, it will be detrimental to growth, and excessive humidity will cause the tubers to rot.

3. Temperature control

They cannot tolerate the cold, and the most suitable temperature for their growth is 25-30℃, which cannot be lower than 15℃. When the temperature reaches around 12℃, the leaves will turn yellow, which will have a certain impact on their growth and their ornamental value will be damaged. It is also not allowed to be too high. If it exceeds 30℃, the new leaves will sprout faster and the period for viewing the leaves will be greatly shortened.

4. Adequate Fertilizer

The maintenance of leaves requires the support of nutrients. It is best to apply fertilizer once a week with a balanced ratio of various elements, but in the early stage, nitrogen fertilizer is the main fertilizer.
