Can spider plants be grown in water?

Can spider plants be grown in water?

1. Is it possible?

Of course, spider plants can be grown in water. Moreover, many people have already done experiments with very successful results. In fact, this practice is very common.

2. Benefits of water culture

(1) First, it is quite ornamental. Plants grown in water are generally more ornamental than those grown in soil because they are set off by the transparent water. If you add a nice container, it will be the icing on the cake.

(2) Second, this is also more hygienic. If you water plants grown in soil, the water will spill everywhere if you are not careful. There is no such concern for plants grown in water.

3. Precautions for water culture

(1) Changing water is very important. Different seasons have different intervals. In spring and autumn, it is usually once a week to ten days. In summer, the frequency is more, generally once every five to seven days. In winter, it is not necessary to do it so frequently, about once every ten days to half a month is enough. Water cannot be used directly from the tap. It usually needs to be left to stand for two to three days until the chlorine in it has dissipated.

(2) Pay attention to the position of the plant's roots. Do not immerse all of them in water. It is enough to keep half of them in water. Otherwise, it will not be conducive to it absorbing air, and the growth of the corresponding plant will be weak.

(3) Plants grown in water also need fertilizer, but in liquid form, namely nutrient solution. Generally speaking, twice a month is enough. Don't use too much.

(4) In addition, attention should be paid to ventilation, which can promote its growth.
