Cultivation methods and precautions of trumpet creeper

Cultivation methods and precautions of trumpet creeper

1. Potting soil

When growing trumpet creepers, you need to use pots with good ventilation. The soil should also have good ventilation, and be deep and fertile enough. However, it must be exposed to the sun before use, and some base fertilizer can be added to the soil.

2. Sunlight

The maintenance location must have sufficient sunlight. If the environment is too dark, the growth of the plant will be affected and the flower color will be lighter. You can usually place it outdoors or on the south balcony indoors, while ensuring ventilation.

3. Water

The plant is suitable for growing in a humid environment and needs to be watered in time to ensure that the soil is moist but not waterlogged. It is recommended to water it once every 2-3 days. After it enters dormancy, keep the soil in the pot slightly dry. In summer, you can water it every day and spray it appropriately to keep it moist.

4. Fertilization

When cultivating, apply sufficient base fertilizer, and apply nitrogen fertilizer every 10-15 days after the plants sprout. After May, in order to help the plants differentiate flower buds, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers should be applied. After the flowers fade, apply phosphorus and potassium fertilizers 1-2 more times, but stop fertilizing in winter.

5. Notes

During the dormant period, the trumpet creeper will have weak branches, dry branches and long branches, which should be pruned in time in early spring. In addition, branches that grow in a messy manner should also be thinned out appropriately.
