How to water newly transplanted orchids

How to water newly transplanted orchids

1. Watering method

The watering method for newly transplanted plants depends on the materials used when planting. If the material is dry and the air permeability is good, it should be watered thoroughly immediately until water flows out from the bottom. This is the rooting water. After watering it thoroughly, wait until the soil is dry next time before replenishing water. If the material is not dry, do not water it immediately. Water it thoroughly every other day so that the root system can adapt and grow better.

2. Maintenance after transplanting

1. Light: It is not a particularly light-loving plant, and it is even weaker right after being transplanted. In order to adapt to the new environment, it must not be exposed to strong light at this time. It should be placed in a cool place for about half a month. Wait until you are fully adapted before accepting astigmatism.

2. Temperature: Temperature control during maintenance is very important. It likes an environment between 15 and 25 degrees. Its needs must be met when it is just transplanted to allow it to safely pass through the seedling stage. In summer, we should pay attention to high temperatures. If the temperature exceeds 28 degrees, we should cool it down.

3. Fertilization: Do not rush to apply fertilizer to orchids that have just been transplanted into pots. At this time, the root system is weak and the fertilizer will cause damage to it, which is not conducive to its growth. Wait until the plant has fully adapted and resumed growth before adding fertilizer, in small amounts and multiple times.
