How to grow Agapanthus

How to grow Agapanthus

1. Soil

During breeding, the soil should have good air permeability and water release properties, and should not become compacted or have water accumulation, otherwise it will damage the roots and affect growth. Using sandy loam, slightly acidic or neutral soil is more conducive to its growth.

2. Temperature

It is suitable for growing in an environment between 12 degrees and 25 degrees. When the temperature is high, you should pay attention to spraying more water to lower the temperature. In winter, you should also pay attention to temperature control and keep it above 5 degrees. Its resistance to high temperatures and cold is not high.

3. Lighting

It is a relatively light-loving plant. It will develop better and bloom more beautifully with sufficient light. During the breeding period, it should be exposed to six to eight hours of light every day. Especially in winter, it is necessary to allow it to receive sufficient sunlight. But in summer, the light is strong, so providing diffuse light is enough.

4. Watering

You don't need to water it too frequently during maintenance. Although it likes a humid environment, it is also slightly drought-resistant, so the soil only needs to be slightly moist. There must be no stagnant water, otherwise the plants will wilt and become lifeless.

5. Pests and diseases

Leaf spot and red spot diseases are common during maintenance. When the disease occurs, the leaves, petals and pedicels will be affected, spots will appear, and flowering will be affected. Therefore, once discovered, it is necessary to spray medication in time to prevent deterioration and affect growth.
