The biggest difference between the ginseng fig and the banyan tree is size. Ficus ginseng is usually grown as a potted plant and is relatively petite. It is cultivated from the seedlings of Ficus microcarpa and looks similar to ginseng. The banyan tree is taller, and even when maintained as a potted plant, it is much larger than the former.

The root system of ginseng fig is more prominent and swollen, usually higher than the ground, and the root system is also an ornamental part. The banyan tree is completely different.
