Reasons and solutions for bougainvillea leaves to wilt, turn yellow, and fall off

Reasons and solutions for bougainvillea leaves to wilt, turn yellow, and fall off

1. Causes

1. Too weak light: Light is crucial to its growth. If there is no sunlight, or if there is too little light to meet its growth needs, the branches will become thin and the leaves will turn yellow. If left alone, the plant will gradually weaken and die.

2. Improper watering: The amount of watering is not adjusted according to the season. Although its drought resistance is not very strong, too much watering will cause water accumulation in the potting soil, the roots cannot breathe, and the leaves above will naturally not be spared. Forgetting to water the plant for a long time can also cause this phenomenon.

3. The temperature is too low: In late autumn, the temperature fluctuates. Staying outside or exposed to cold wind near the window may cause a large temperature difference.

4. Improper fertilization: In hot summers and cold winters, the plants have entered a dormant stage. Continuing to fertilize will damage the roots and affect the leaves.

2. Solution

1. Place the newly grown seedlings in semi-shade. As they grow, they need to be exposed to more than 8 hours of light.

2. Increase or decrease the amount of water according to the situation, and then apply it according to different seasons. Once a day in spring and autumn, once in the morning and evening in summer, and should be reduced in winter.

3. Take good warming measures starting from autumn.

4. Apply nutrients appropriately during the growth period and stop during the dormant period.
