Cultivation method of Cryptomeria fortunei

Cultivation method of Cryptomeria fortunei

1. Soil:

Cryptomeria fortunei grows faster in acidic loam with deep layers, fertile texture and good drainage, and is not suitable for cultivation in thin and dry soil.

2. Fertilization:

In the early stage of Cryptomeria fortunei, soil and miscellaneous fertilizers are the main fertilizers, and in the later stage, phosphorus fertilizers and granular organic compound fertilizers can be used instead. If the soil fertility is poor, the amount of fertilizer should be increased in time.

3. Watering:

Cryptomeria needs sufficient water during its growth period and should be watered in a timely manner, but not too much. If water accumulates in the soil for a long time, it will easily cause root rot.

4. Temperature:

Cryptomeria fortunei likes moisture and cannot tolerate high temperatures. Excessively high temperatures can easily lead to poor growth. During the cultivation period, the temperature should be controlled between 14-19℃.

5. Pest and disease control:

1. Diseases: Common diseases include damping-off and red blight. They will cause the branches and trunks of the Cryptomeria to become yellow and damaged, and in severe cases may even lead to the death of the entire plant. You can spray 1000 times diluted 70% methyl tobac wettable powder for prevention and control. At the same time, strengthen water and fertilizer management, increase the application of organic fertilizer, and reduce the incidence of disease.

2. Pests: Common pests include termites and red longhorn beetles. They will eat into tree roots, damage trunks and branches, and in severe cases can cause the death of the plant. Termites can be controlled by using smoke suppression to kill mosquitoes or spraying ant mitron, and red longhorn beetles can be controlled by manually capturing and killing adults and larvae.
