How to peel and deodorize ginkgo nuts (easy method)

How to peel and deodorize ginkgo nuts (easy method)

1. Peeling method

1. Pliers: The easiest way is to use special pliers, clamp the shell of the ginkgo nut, pinch it open along the gap, and peel off the skin.

2. Biting with teeth: People with good teeth can bite a hole in a narrow place, and the skin will fall off by itself. However, this method is rather clumsy and the kernels may be damaged.

3. Microwave: Collect the ginkgo nuts and put them in the microwave. After about ten minutes, the skin of the fruit will burst automatically.

2. Deodorization Methods

It has a bad smell when it is just picked, but if you buy it from a supermarket, it has no odor and does not require any treatment. If you want to remove the odor from ginkgo nuts, pick them and put them in water and soak them for about 7 days. If you are worried that the time is too short and there is still smell, you can soak it for a few more days, or even half a month. Peel off the skin and place it in a ventilated place, but avoid direct sunlight. Two pieces are enough.
