How to grow camellia in winter

How to grow camellia in winter

1. Maintenance place

The temperature is relatively low in winter. When the growth temperature drops to zero degrees, it needs to be moved to a warm environment for maintenance.

2. Water and Fertilizer Management

1. Watering: Its roots are very sensitive. If water accumulates in the potting soil, its roots will rot. Watering in winter should be based on the room temperature. If the temperature is high, water it every two or three days, and if the temperature is low, water it once a week. The temperature of the water used should be not much different from the room temperature, so that it is easier for the plants to accept it.

2. Fertilization: It will also bloom in winter, and flowering consumes a lot of nutrients, so nutrients need to be supplemented through nutrients. Mainly use thin fertilizers, as thick fertilizers will damage the roots. The frequency of use is once every two weeks to one month. In order to make the flower buds grow better, more phosphorus and potassium fertilizers should be used.

3. Lighting

It is a long-day plant and needs to be exposed to sunlight all day long to metabolize normally. The daylight is short in winter, so it needs to be placed in a sunny place for maintenance.

4. Temperature

It is afraid of cold, and the maintenance temperature should not be lower than five degrees Celsius. Cold air is more frequent in winter, so preventive measures need to be taken. If the room temperature is too low, you can cover the plants with plastic bags to ensure the growth temperature. If it is hit by low temperatures, it will not be able to bloom properly.
