How to care for the cabbage succulent so that it grows quickly into a short and thick pile and looks good

Cabbage-like succulents are also called wrinkled-leaf succulents . They may not have much to do with each other in time, but they have one common feature: their leaves all have skirts.

There are not many succulent lovers who like cabbage-type succulents. For example, I am not very fond of them. I think their leaves are messy and not as good-looking as succulents with smooth leaves.

Of course, everyone has their own preferences for radishes and cabbages. Cabbage fans naturally think that they are very beautiful. There are even succulent lovers who only grow cabbage and do not grow other succulents.

When the temperature is high and the air is stuffy, you should pay attention to ventilating the cabbage succulent. If the cabbage succulent grows in a high temperature environment for a long time, the roots will be stuffy and unable to breathe, and may even rot. It may also be infected with diseases and pests. Therefore, when caring for it in the summer, you can place the cabbage succulent in a location with good air circulation.

Cabbage and succulent farming

1. Lighting

Cabbage succulents have a high demand for light, but in summer, the light is strong, so you should pay attention to sun protection and shading measures.

If cabbage succulent is exposed to the sun for a long time, the leaves will be burned and cause the leaves to burn. Therefore, in summer, it should be maintained in a diffuse light environment. During strong light at noon, be careful to block strong direct light.

2. Moisture

Cabbage succulents should be watered according to the principle of watering when the soil is dry and watering when the soil is wet. In summer, as the temperature rises, cabbage succulents will enter a dormant or semi-dormant stage.

The growth is relatively slow at this time and the demand for water decreases, so you should pay attention to watering in moderation.

3. Summer

First of all, large cabbage-like succulents have thick stems and wide leaves, and they are planted in large pots. In addition, they are all summer-type succulents, so they are very sun-resistant and can be placed in an open-air environment in summer without shade.

Secondly, since cabbages have to be grown outdoors in the summer and there is no shade at all, they naturally cannot lack water. It is recommended to water them directly (along the edge of the pot) when the soil in the pot is completely dry, just like in spring, autumn and fall.

However, the watering time must be at night when the temperature is relatively low. Never water them under the scorching sun, otherwise, no matter how hardy they are, problems will still arise.

In addition, it is inevitable that it will rain when growing cabbage-like succulents with pure dew in summer, so what should I do? It doesn’t matter, as long as the potting soil itself is dry and needs watering, it’s okay to get wet directly in the rain.

After watering, remember to dry the water in the center of the leaves. But if the pot soil itself is wet, or it rains for several days in a row.

Then we can't let the cabbages get exposed to the rain. We need to temporarily move them to a place that is sheltered from the rain and ventilated to prevent them from getting into trouble.

Cabbage maintenance precautions

When there is more rainfall in the summer, if you are growing succulents outdoors, you must be careful to avoid rain and prevent water from accumulating in the center of the leaves.

If the cabbage is accidentally exposed to rain, move it to a well-ventilated location in time to maintain good air circulation and allow the moisture to evaporate as quickly as possible.
