Cucumber seed germination method

Cucumber seed germination method

Cucumber seeds must be disinfected before germination. You can soak the seeds in 0.1% carbendazim hydrochloric acid solution for about 1 hour, rinse them and soak them for another 4 hours and dry them. However, some merchants have already treated the cucumber seeds with seed film before selling them, so the disinfection step can be skipped.

Cucumber germination method

After rinsing the processed cucumber seeds, soak them in an environment with suitable temperature for 4-8 hours. After the seeds have absorbed enough water, wrap them in a towel and place them in the prepared container. Then let them stand and wait for germination. Turn the seeds over frequently during the germination process. The seeds will germinate after about 24 hours. If the ambient temperature is not high, it will take about two days for them to germinate.

Cucumber seedling planting

Step 1: Seed treatment

After the cucumbers are planted in the bend, they should be stored in a cold place at a high temperature of 30-35℃ for germination. After the seeds turn white for 2 hours, the temperature should be lowered to about 20℃ for germination for more than 20 hours.

Step 2: Daily Management

Cucumbers are afraid of both drought and waterlogging, so they are generally watered once every 2 to 3 days. Then they need to be fertilized frequently during their growing period to supplement nutrients. Potassium fertilizer is best. When tendrils appear on the leaves, a support should be set up in time.

Step 3: Disease Prevention

250 grams of 5406 bacteria can be applied per square meter in the seedbed to prevent the occurrence of damping-off disease. If you want to prevent wind and reduce humidity, you can spray 800-1000 times of 5% Jinggangmycin aqueous solution.
