How to make the cuttings of green radish take root quickly

Although the vitality of the green radish is very strong and easy to reproduce, there are still many cases where the survival rate of the green radish cuttings is low and the root system does not grow. So let me talk about the details of cuttings and the method of rapid rooting:

1. When cutting the green radish, choose branches that have grown for about 2 years. If they are too tender and easy to lose water, you can use hydroponic cuttings. Two-year-old branches have the strongest vitality and are easy to cut.

2. The branches are cut at about 3 nodes, with a length of about 10 to 15 cm, and 4 leaves are retained at the top of the branches. The pruning point below the branch is 0.5 cm below the branch node, and the pruning mouth should be flat and without burrs .

3. In order to quickly promote the rooting of the green radish, soak it in a rooting agent for half an hour before cutting. The rooting agent containing "indoleacetic acid" is the best.

4. The planting material for cuttings can be Akadama soil or freshwater river sand. The cleanliness and sterility can reduce the probability of wound soreness . The looseness and breathability can allow the wound to repair quickly. The large temperature difference between day and night can induce new roots.

Management of green radish after cutting

1. Don't rush to water the green radish after cutting . Just keep the soil slightly moist during cutting. Spray the leaves and shallow soil more after cutting to moisturize the branches and increase the humidity of the microenvironment.

2. On the third day after cuttings, you can water it thoroughly , and then water it according to the dryness of the soil. "Don't water if it's not dry, and water it thoroughly if you do." Continue to spray the branches and trunk every day.

3. Keep the newly grafted green radish in a cool and ventilated place for about 10 days. Then move it to a place with bright light and weak light for 3 hours every morning and evening. After about 10 days, it will grow roots and send out new buds.

[Note] It is important to choose the branches when cuttings of green radish. Soaking them in rooting agents can quickly make them take root. Using river sand can quickly induce new roots. Timely changes in light can also promote rapid root growth.

About one month after the green radish cuttings survive, it can be repotted. When potting, the soil should be mixed with garden soil + humus soil + freshwater river sand + perlite in a ratio of 3:3:3:1.
