What are the medicinal herbs that can be planted and harvested in one year?

Gastrodia elata

The natural season for artificial cultivation of Gastrodia elata is from November to January of the following year in winter, and from February to April in spring. Gastrodia elata should be harvested between October and December each year , and it stops growing after September. This is because it must be harvested and processed before the snow falls in winter, and the quality of Gastrodia elata harvested during this period is the best.

If the harvest is too early, the Gastrodia elata is still growing, which not only reduces the yield but also affects the product quality. If the harvest is too late, it is easy to suffer from cold damage and underground pests and rodents. The yield of Gastrodia elata per mu is 400-500 kilograms . The current market price of Gastrodia elata is 150-200 per kilogram for red hemp and 180-400 per kilogram for black hemp.

Peucedanum chinense

Peucedanum has the effects of lowering qi and resolving phlegm, dispersing wind and clearing heat. Its flowering period is from August to October, and its fruiting period is from October to November. Generally, Peucedanum can be harvested from late October after the frost to early February of the following year before the beginning of spring. It is most suitable to harvest after the frost when the seedlings wither.

When harvesting, dig out the roots of Peucedanum peucedanum, remove the stems, leaves and mud, and dry them in the sun. During the sun drying process, wipe off the fibrous roots. We can also use our feet to remove the roots and tails when the main roots are not dry but the fibrous roots are dry, and then dry them in the sun. In rainy days, you can use a slow fire to dry. Generally, about 6 kg of fresh goods can be processed into 1 kg of finished Peucedanum peucedanum .

Cat's Claw

It is best to choose fertile, humus-containing, loose and moist soil for planting cat's claw. It can be planted from March to November every year. Seed propagation: When the fruits of cat's claw are ripe in May and June every year, the fruits are harvested, dried and threshed, and the seeds are sieved out for sowing. However, the seedlings will not emerge until September, and the finished products can be harvested in May of the following year.

The growing period of cat's claw is one year , and one acre of land can produce about 120 to 150 kilograms. The current price of home-grown cat's claw is 80 yuan per kilogram , and the annual output value per acre will not be less than 10,000 yuan.
