How to grow a potted money tree

soil

To grow a money tree, you only need ordinary soil, and it would be better if the soil is loose and breathable. The soil for potted money trees is a mixture of 1 part peat soil, 1 part garden soil, and 1 part river sand, and the base fertilizer is cake fertilizer.

Fertilization

During the growing period, there should be sufficient water and fertilizer to keep the potting soil moist. In summer, in addition to the substrate, water should also be sprayed on the leaves and the ground. Apply thin fertilizer water once a month, mainly nitrogen fertilizer. Avoid direct sunlight in summer and provide appropriate shade for the money tree. Keep the temperature above 10℃ during winter. Long-term low temperature will cause root rot.

illumination

The money tree loves light and can receive direct sunlight all year round in northern regions. After Qingming Festival, it can be taken out of the house and placed outdoors without shade. Placed under a window during the winter, the money plant will grow vigorously during this period if the conditions are right.

Watering

It is best to water the money tree after it is completely dry, and combine fertilization with watering. In summer, the money tree can be placed outdoors to receive rain and dew. Because tap water is weakly alkaline, in winter, orange peels should be soaked in a diluted liquid every 2 to 4 times of tap water watering. In winter, the temperature of sunny windows can reach around 30°C at noon, so it is best to water them once a day to keep them moist. The indoor temperature will be drier after heating.
