Precautions for transplanting spider plants, transplanting methods and maintenance tips

Chlorophytum is a very common plant grown in potted plants at home. It has strong adaptability and is easy to cultivate. When the Chlorophytum plants are growing vigorously, they need to be transplanted for ventilation and nutrient supply between plants. Moreover, after 2-3 years of maintenance, the soil lacks nutrients, which is not conducive to the subsequent growth of Chlorophytum, and they also need to be transplanted in time.

Chlorophytum comosum grows best at a temperature of 20°C. The climate is cool and the temperature is stable in spring and autumn, which is conducive to the rooting and development of the plant. Therefore, Chlorophytum comosum is generally transplanted in March and April in spring and September and October in autumn. The climate at this time is conducive to the recovery of Chlorophytum comosum wounds and can ensure the survival rate.

Points to note when transplanting spider plants

1. Before transplanting spider plants, you need to prepare loose, breathable, and well-drained soil. When preparing it yourself, you can mix garden soil, peat soil, coal slag, river sand, and humus. It needs to be exposed to the sun for sterilization before use. In order to prevent water from evaporating too quickly, you can also put a layer of pebbles on the soil.

2. When dividing and transplanting, you can choose a vigorously growing spider plant, cut off the new plant with the rhizome with sterilized scissors, plant the roots at 1/2 of the soil, cover the soil and compact it; for the spider plant that is repotted, you need to remove the pot, trim the roots, disinfect it, and then transplant it to the new soil.

Chlorophytum transplanting management

After transplanting, the spider plant needs to be placed in a cool and ventilated place, exposed to scattered light, and the temperature should be controlled at 20-24℃. Water it in time according to the dryness and wetness of the soil to keep the soil moist. New roots will grow stably in about 10 days.
