How to grow green radish hydroponically in winter to make it more vigorous

The hydroponic green radish is a very cold-resistant plant. It cannot grow normally in an environment below 10 degrees Celsius, so if it is in an environment without heating, it will definitely be frozen to death. However, it can also grow in the northern winter, but some warming measures need to be taken to avoid freezing of the plant in the cold winter.

Key points for hydroponic cultivation of green radish in winter

1. Suitable temperature

A very critical point in hydroponic culture of green radish is temperature. The temperature of the environment should be kept above 10℃ so that it will not be frostbitten. If it is lower than 5℃, the leaves of the plant will turn yellow or even fall off.

If conditions permit, it is best to keep the room temperature at around 20℃, and it will grow better, but families in the north should also be careful to avoid exposing the leaves to direct cold winds, as there is a risk of frostbite.

2. Adequate lighting

Although the green ivy cannot tolerate direct sunlight, if it is placed in a place where light cannot reach for a long time, its leaves will turn white and yellow. Since the sunlight intensity is weak in winter, you can put it in a sunny place every morning or evening in winter and ensure good ventilation.

3. Change water reasonably

As for how to change the water of the green radish, taking the normally growing green radish as an example, the water needs to be changed once every 7-10 days in summer, about 15 days in spring and autumn, and 15-20 days in winter.

Precautions for hydroponic cultivation of green radish in winter

When hydroponically growing the plant, do not use too much water, just enough to submerge the roots of the plant. Too much water will cause the roots to rot. Also, when changing the water, do not use too cold water. The water quality used should be clean enough. If you maintain it in an air-conditioned room in winter, you need to spray water appropriately, otherwise the air will be too dry.
