Can Chlorophytum comosum be hydroponically cultivated? Hydroponics cultivation methods and precautions

Can Chlorophytum comosum be hydroponically cultivated?

Chlorophytum can be hydroponically grown, and soil cultivation is also suitable for it. Chlorophytum likes warm and dry environments by nature, and is often used as an indoor ornamental flower in daily life. Hydroponics is especially popular among white-collar workers.

Methods and key points of hydroponic cultivation of Chlorophytum comosum

1. Prepare utensils

First, find a clean glass container, the size of which should match the size of the planted Chlorophytum. The reason for choosing a glass container is to better observe the progress and status of the hydroponic Chlorophytum.

2. Treat the roots

First, use a knife to cut the longest branch of the Chlorophytum comosum into several small sections, remove useless rotten leaves and branches, and be careful not to let the cross-section of the cut branches come into contact with dirty things. Place it in a well-ventilated location and let it stand for 30 minutes.

3. Temperature requirements

The temperature of hydroponic Chlorophytum is controlled at about 15 to 20 degrees. At this temperature, Chlorophytum will start to take root in about a week. If it is below 10 degrees, the rooting time will be extended. In winter, due to the low temperature caused by the cold weather, it may take about 40 days for the rooting to take root.

Precautions for growing Chlorophytum in water

1. Change water in time

When growing Chlorophytum hydroponica in water, you need to pay attention to controlling the water temperature. When the temperature is high, you need to change the water in time to cool it down to prevent the water from deteriorating and to avoid the rotting of the Chlorophytum hydroponica.

2. Soil moisture

If you want to plant the hydroponic Chlorophytum in a pot, it is recommended to keep the soil moist and place it in a ventilated and cool place away from sunlight.
