How and when to plant coriander in summer and at what temperature can it be planted

Summer is the best time to plant coriander

The planting time for coriander in summer is generally around June. The planting amount per acre should not exceed 2 kilograms, which can improve the quality of coriander. The planting density should not be too small to avoid affecting the harvest in the later stage.

When sowing, we need to spread the coriander seeds evenly on the soil, then cover it with film and grass. We can remove it after about 7 days, but we must keep the soil moist.

Summer coriander planting methods and key points

1. Variety selection

Because the temperature is higher in summer, the growth rate of coriander will become slower, which will also affect the quality of coriander. Once it exceeds 30℃, it will stop growing. Therefore, when choosing coriander varieties, it is recommended to choose varieties that are drought-resistant, sunlight-resistant, and grow faster, which will not affect the quality of coriander.

2. Land preparation and fertilization

Because coriander is planted out of season, it has certain requirements for the soil. First, loosen the soil to ensure that fertilizer and water can penetrate into the coriander roots. Before planting, be sure to apply enough base fertilizer, decomposed farmyard manure and compound fertilizer, and then mix the soil with fertilizer, so that the coriander can better absorb nutrients.

Points to note for daily management of coriander in summer

Thinning should be carried out in a timely manner. Usually, thinning can be done when the coriander seedlings are about 4 cm. Weak seedlings should be removed and good seedlings should be retained to allow the coriander seedlings to grow better. At the same time, weeds should be removed to prevent weeds from robbing the coriander of nutrients during its growth process.
