What to do if the leaves of Clivia turn yellow

What to do if the leaves of Clivia turn yellow

1. Reduce light

Reason: Clivia cannot be exposed to the sun, otherwise its leaves will be burned by the strong sunlight and turn yellow.

Solution: Use a shade net to shade the Clivia, or simply move it to a place where the sun doesn't shine directly on it.

2. Increase watering

Reason: If you don't water the Clivia for a long time, it will lack water, and its physiological activities such as respiration and photosynthesis will not be able to proceed normally, causing the leaves to turn yellow.

Solution: Water the Clivia appropriately and promptly, and water it as soon as the soil starts to dry out.

3. Reduce watering

Reason: Too much water is usually poured, and the Clivia cannot absorb it in time, and the excess water will remain in the soil. In this way, the roots in the soil will be soaked in water, and it will be difficult for them to access sufficient oxygen, causing the roots to switch to anaerobic respiration, producing ethanol and causing damage to the roots. Once the roots are damaged, they will not be able to absorb nutrients normally, and the leaves will lack nutrients and easily turn yellow.

Solution: If the situation is serious, you need to remove the Clivia from the soil and plant it elsewhere. If the situation is not so serious, you can place the flowerpot in a ventilated place, blow dry the water in the soil and reduce watering.

4. No processing required

Reason: If the Clivia is older, some yellow leaves will appear as a result of normal metabolism.

Solution: This situation does not require any further treatment. Just maintain it normally for a period of time and it will return to normal.
