Where does taro grow?

Taro is suitable for growing in a high temperature and humid environment. Suitable temperature helps it maintain a normal growth state. When the temperature is 13-15℃, its bulb gradually begins to sprout, and when the temperature reaches about 27-30℃, its bulb will begin to develop.

Taro is native to China, Malaysia, the Indian Peninsula and other countries, and is now widely grown around the world. Among them, my country has relatively abundant taro resources, which are currently mainly distributed in the Pearl River, Yangtze River and Huaihe River basins.

Taro growing environment

1. Water requirements: When planting taro, you need to pay attention to the moisture of the soil. Especially during its growth period, the demand for water is extremely high. You need to increase the amount of water each time and the frequency of watering appropriately.

2. Requirements for light: Taro is not very strict about light requirements when growing. It relatively prefers weak light and grows better under scattered light. Its bulbs need short days to promote formation.

3. Soil requirements: When planting taro, you need to choose a low-lying location. Taro is a fertilizer-loving crop, and its bulbs are often formed in the deep soil layer underground. Therefore, it should be planted in deep soil. The most suitable pH value is generally between 5.5 and 7.
