Can lychees be grown in Sichuan?

Lychees can be grown in Sichuan, which is one of the main production areas in my country. Lychees prefer warm and humid environments. The lychee planting area here is very large, and there are many varieties planted. The more common ones are Huaizhi, Yuanhong, Guiwei, Niumici, etc.

Sichuan lychees bloom and bear fruit

Sichuan lychees can be planted in March and April every year. The plants are easiest to take root at this time. The growth rate of the plants is slow, and some need 10-15 years to bear fruit. The picking time of different varieties is also different. Some early-maturing varieties can mature in May.

Sichuan litchi planting technology

1. Choose a good planting site

If you want a high yield of litchi, you should choose to plant it in an open, loose, fertile soil with a high organic matter content, preferably close to a water source.

2. Choose litchi seedlings

When choosing litchi seedlings, you should first choose large seedlings. The seedlings should be strong and free of diseases and pests. The seedling height should be above 60 cm, and different varieties can be mixed planted.

3. Planting

Before planting litchi trees, you need to lay out lines and dig holes at designated locations. The holes should be one meter long, wide, and high each. Apply enough base fertilizer before planting. Apply about 200 kilograms of human and animal manure to each hole. After planting, water the hole sufficiently to allow the trees to take root.
