How to propagate cyclamen? Simple propagation method

Cyclamen propagation method

There are three main ways to propagate cyclamen, namely, sowing propagation, tuber propagation and tissue culture, but it is mainly propagated by sowing. After soaking the seeds for 24 hours, wrap them with wet cloth to germinate, and sow them after two days. They will germinate in about a month.

Common propagation methods of cyclamen

1. Cyclamen tuber propagation

Cyclamen can be propagated by dividing the tubers, preferably in late August when its tubers are in the budding stage. It is necessary to remove it from the pot and clean the soil at the roots, then divide it into several tubers with buds and apply wood ash. After drying, it can be planted, making sure the buds are facing upwards.

2. Cyclamen tissue culture propagation

Cyclamen can also be propagated by tissue culture. It is necessary to select a healthy part of the plant as an explant, then use modern technology to prepare the culture medium and do a good job of maintenance. After the explant grows roots, it needs to be transplanted and maintained in time.

3. Cyclamen propagation by seed

The most common way to propagate cyclamen is by sowing. Before sowing, the seeds need to be soaked in cold water for 24 hours. After taking them out, they are wrapped with a wet cloth to germinate. Then they can be sown in the prepared loose and breathable soil, covered with a thin layer of soil, and watered to keep them moist.
